Did you know that wrecking was also a prevalent occurrence in Scotland? The people of Stroma Island in the Pentland Firth saw over 2,000 wrecks. Boatment and able seamen would plunder vessels that were easy access off the Scottish coast. In fact, although wrecking had slowed in the twentieth century in the Florida Keys, it was still a major activity of Scottish inhabitants!
